ABOUT THE ARTIST - G&S Note Card Collection

Tyson Vick has roots in rural America. He grew up in Montana, spending most of his youth in the small town of Cut Bank. At the age of 19 his interest in film making led him to the "Big Apple" where he attended the New York Film Academy and directed 2 short films, writing 3 movie scripts in the process. His quirky black and white short film "Puppy Be Gone" was an official selection of the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival where it debuted in Madison Square Gardens and Greenwich Village. It was later selected by the Independent Film and Technology Festival to tour the world through England, Canada and the US. Since then his short films and commercials and documentaries have found wide acceptance.

G&S Notecard Logo Image A long time fan of Gilbert and Sullivan, Tyson began to illustrate a few of his favorite scenes from the operas. One illustration led to another and eventually some 80 Gilbert and Sullivan pieces were completed. You can view an example of the creative process here.

When his father suggested the illustrations were so original as to warrant publication, Tyson granted him the rights to half the illustrations in appreciation of putting him through film school. Together father and son scanned, edited, proofed and produced the Gilbert and Sullivan Note Card Collection you see in these pages.

Oh Mad Delight Logo ImageWith the help of a talented crew from New York and Taiwan, the documentaries were able to capture the excitement and passion of the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival. If you are interested in learning more about these fascinating people from varying backgrounds coming together from across to globe to celebrate music, or a group of talented youths struggling hard to put together a full length opera in ten intense days, you should take time and check out these 2 NEW documentaries. You will be glad you did.
