49 North Productions is largely a family affair. Our experience in film, creative writing, law, technology, illustration, English and Japanese have all proved invaluable as we produce a few select pieces each year which we find challenging or interesting for one reason or another.

One of the new projects we are helping with is an Anime-style comic book series, "The Scarecrow and Lady Kingston". The 6 comic series is written by Tristan Vick and character development has now been started using a very talented artist from Germany. 49 North had been helping with copyrights and also with possible cover designs for issue number 1. 49 North creates several different graphic designs and pieces of art each year. Our most popular is that of various Gilbert and Sullivan Opera scenes. These have gained worldwide acceptance and are the main feature of this web site. Still, our less recognized pieces are equally fun for us to work on.

One day not long ago I decided to do a 3D piece for a "Renderosity" contest. Based on "pre-made" 3d elements, the theme of the contest was centered around "Adventure". The Award-Winning piece "Imagination" was published in Renderosity Magazine. Technically it involved 17 different 3D light sources of different intensities and colors. The candle-light was a real challenge.

The comments and reviews I received were very gracious. Thank you.

examples: "Congratulations! Such an imagination! Bravo!" --- "Great concept, good composition, excellent characters, very nice lighting and wonderful attention to detail." --- "Excellent and creative work! Great effects of illumination!" --- "This is a great piece of work, full of atmosphere." --- "Beautifully done. This image is just fantastic."

Anyway, I enjoyed creating it. So just add your imagination to a good book and you are certain to go on ... a real adventure.
